A leading multi model logistics business is looking for a Transport Coordinator to join their Northampton depot. As a Transport Coordinator you will assist in planning routes, managing drivers and ensuring the fleet are maintained. The role will be a development role looking to develop the right candidate to be a Transport Planner, so would be ideal for an ambitious candidate looking to develop a career in Transport.

As a Transport Coordinator you will assist with the day to day running of vehicles to ensure prompt and on time deliveries to customers. You will be required to update transport systems to track vehicle, trailer and job status to meet delivery timings. You will ensure vehicles and trailers are serviced and MOT'd before being used and assist drivers in managing their hours and break requirements to be compliant at all times. You will also be required to assist drivers and customers with queries and any issues that arise during a route.

The right candidate will have some experience in a transport environment and be willing to learn. As this is a trainee role our client is open to look at different industry experience but would need to have involved scheduling, planning or fleet based work. Ideally the person will be confident, a strong communicator and able to work under pressure. It would also be an advantage if you have worked with Transport Software, but those without will still need to be confident working on Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

The role will be based in their Milton Keynes and the working hours will be Monday - Friday on a regular day shift with start times from 7am-9am. Due to the nature of the role, some flexibility will be required around working hours. On offer is a salary of £22,000 - £25,000 per annum. The company can offer a friendly working environment, additional company benefits and will look to train the individual to become a planner within their team.
