Role Overview
As a Class 2 (C) Driver, you'll be responsible for both multi-drop pallet distribution and full-load general haulage. Operating curtain-sided and tail-lift vehicles, you'll ensure that all goods are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role is ideal for drivers who take pride in accuracy, load security, and providing excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out multi-drop pallet distribution and full-load general haulage.
- Operate curtain-sided and tail-lift vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Secure loads correctly using straps and other load restraint methods.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
- Maintain accurate records using a digital tachograph and comply with drivers' hours regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent PW Gates professionally at delivery sites.
Essential Criteria
- Full HGV Class 2 (C) Driving Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card.
- Maximum of 6 penalty points (no IN or DR codes).
- Experience operating curtain-sided vehicles and using tail lifts.
- Experience securing loads safely with straps and restraints.
- Professional, reliable, and safety-focused approach to work.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous night trunking or long-distance driving experience.
- Familiarity with PDA's (Personal Digital Assistant Scanner's) and vehicle telematics systems.
- Experience handling paperwork such as delivery notes, manifests and PODs.
- A strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing routes, schedules, or operational needs.
- A positive attitude and commitment to high customer service standards.
- Previous experience in palletised distribution or general haulage.
- Experience with timed or multi-drop deliveries.
