Overview
The TikTok Live Stream Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining all technical aspects of live streaming sessions. This role ensures smooth setup, operation, and troubleshooting of equipment during TikTok lives, while coordinating with the content team to deliver high-quality broadcasts. The position requires strong technical knowledge, organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced digital content environment.
Responsibilities
- Technical Setup & Equipment Management
- Prepare, test, and maintain live streaming equipment (cameras, microphones, lighting, tripods, streaming software, and accessories).
- Ensure proper internet connectivity and optimize streaming settings for high-quality broadcasts.
- Conduct regular maintenance and updates on hardware and software used for TikTok live streaming.
- Keep an inventory of live streaming equipment and manage repairs/replacements as needed.
- Ensure graphic overlays such as banners are added to live broadcast.
- Live Stream Support & Monitoring
- Support hosts/creators during TikTok live sessions, ensuring smooth operation from start to finish.
- Monitor audio, video, lighting, and stream quality in real-time, addressing technical issues promptly.
- Coordinate with the content team to ensure seamless live session flow (switching setups, preparing visuals, music, or overlays).
- Manage backup systems and contingency plans to minimize downtime during technical failures.
- Work closely with content creators, marketing, and social media teams to plan and execute live sessions.
- Provide technical guidance to hosts and presenters on equipment use and best practices for live streaming.
- Support promotional campaigns by ensuring live streams meet brand quality and engagement standards.
- Liaise with third-party vendors or IT support for complex troubleshooting when required.
- Process & Continuous Improvement
- Document live stream procedures, troubleshooting guides, and equipment handling protocols.
- Recommend upgrades or new tools to enhance live streaming quality and efficiency.
- Track and analyse live stream performance data (technical issues, uptime, audience feedback) to suggest improvements.
- Stay up to date with TikTok Live features, tools, and platform updates.
