Responsibilities
- Address customers’ complaints or concerns
- Maintain professionalism in customer service
- Arrange travel, itineraries and make reservations
- Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
- Oversee vehicle condition, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform brake adjustments
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Establish delivery schedules
- Follow emergency and safety procedures
- Keep records of work performed, location and condition of equipment
- Coordinate work activities with project supervisors or managers
Qualifications
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
- License: Class 3 or D Driver’s License
- Air Brake (Z) endorsement
- Documentation knowledge: Inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
- Transport/travel experience: Local
- Physical capabilities: Attention to detail, physically demanding, sitting, weight handling up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
- Personal suitability: Flexible, organized, team player, hardworking
- Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract), valid driver’s licence and documentation knowledge
