We are a rapidly growing ice pack manufacturing business (c. £5-6m turnover) serving the home food box delivery sector. The company operates a production facility in Redditch and supports a diverse and expanding customer base. In addition, the role will provide some support to a related print and packaging supplier, which shares some overlapping customers as well as servicing legacy print, packaging, and clothing clients.
This is a newly created role, offering an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to take on a broad and varied position within a collaborative and growing management team. Reporting into the Director, you will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, compliance, and operational finance activities of the business.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow management.
- Maintain and improve online finance systems (we currently use Quickbooks and MRP Easy).
- Produce monthly management accounts and reports for UK Directors.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and procedures.
- Business partnering with production and operations teams to improve efficiency and cost control.
- Manage payroll and HR related processes re overtime etc.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Studying towards or holding an accountancy qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or similar).
- Previous experience in a finance office-based role with exposure to manufacturing operations.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Experience in supervising staff.
- Good working knowledge of Excel, finance and ERP software packages.
- Excellent communication skills for customer and supplier liaison.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- Previous experience in a growing SME manufacturing business.
