Responsible for coordinating and developing a group of suppliers to successfully meet the quality, cost, and delivery requirements for the Company and ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency to achieve best in class operations.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Ensure boat materials/services are purchased in line with business requirements and authorised Company processes at the lowest total cost of ownership.
- Be the business focal point and subject expert for given commodities.
- Develop commodity strategies for critical supply commodities by:
- Understanding the category and what the risks cost drivers are and identify opportunities within the category.
- Driving cost reduction and establishing the best purchase prices for the commodities.
- Ensuring that the quality of product purchased meets the exacting standards of Oyster Yachts.
Requirements
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of supply chain/procurement processes.
- Knowledge of marine industry desirable but not essential.
- Understanding of yacht production and associated materials and parts, desirable.
Skills
- Competent user of Microsoft Office, in particular Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong relationship builder.
- Strong communication skills both telephone, email, and face to face.
- Planning and organising skills.
- Strong analytical skills and able to manipulate data sets and present in table/chart form.
Experience
- Worked within purchasing in the marine industry or manufacturing.
- Comprehensive experience/user of an ERP or similar.
- Experience in a purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management role.
- Experience of negotiations with suppliers.
- Supplier relationship management.
Qualifications
- CIPS qualification or working towards but not essential.

- Technically curious.
