The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 Β£ per year.
The Boat Builder will report to the Boat Builder Manager, who is based at our Wroxham Site. They will be responsible for making and fitting various components across our range of boats, working to precise measurements and details. This will include both fit out joinery on the inside of the boat and details on the exterior of the projects as well.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Fitting sailing hardware (Winches, cleats, clutches and tracks)
- Fitting ply bulkheads
- Epoxy lay-up of sub-assemblies
- Making and fitting cabin sole bearers
- Cladding bulkheads with polished veneered ply
- Making and fitting a variety of boat furniture
- Making and fitting sole boards
- Basic upholstery work on overhead panels etc.
- Making and hanging cabin doors
- Fitting hull ports / marine windows
- Fitting marine hatches
- Quality and snagging testing through deluge
- Fairing & finishing of final Composite Modules
Requirements
Knowledge
- Robust boatbuilding construction knowledge
- Competent manufacturing knowledge (timber, fibreglass products as an example)
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Skilled use of hand and power tools
- Reading and understanding technical drawings
Experience
- Experience of working with raw materials and tools to a good standard
- Previous experience in the marine industry working with timber/GRP boats (Desirable)
Qualifications
- Relevant C&G Qualifications or equivalent
