We are seeking a senior Project Manager to lead a high-profile highways infrastructure scheme through detailed and final design, early contractor involvement (ECI), and into full construction. This role will take ownership of delivery, ensuring the programme moves from detailed design to “spade in the ground”, maintaining pace, control, and stakeholder confidence throughout.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven leadership of major highways schemes (£100m+)
  • Strong experience in ECI / pre-construction phases
  • Ability to oversee and challenge detailed design development and buildability
  • Extensive NEC contract management experience (commercial control, risk, contractor engagement)
  • Track record delivering projects from design to live construction
  • Confident, credible leader able to drive performance with Tier 1 contractors and stakeholders
  • Experience in overseeing Bridge rebuilding schemes, and have delivered high-profile structural projects.

The role:

  • Lead the transition from design to construction, ensuring timely delivery
  • Provide senior-level authority and programme oversight
  • Ensure delivery momentum, governance, and risk management
  • Act as the key interface across the client, contractor, and stakeholders

A degree in Civil Engineering, and full competence in UK Highway standards and bridge construction practices is valued.
