We are looking for an experienced Mate/Engineer to join a new-build Oyster 595 for an exciting Mediterranean cruising programme beginning in March 2027. This position has the potential to lead into the Oyster World Rally 2028 for those looking for a longer term commitment and adventure. Following delivery in Guernsey, the yacht will spend the 2027 season cruising the Mediterranean, including time in Italy, the Ionian and the Adriatic. Family and friends will join throughout the year, making for a varied and enjoyable programme with a mix of coastal cruising and longer passages. Towards the end of the season, the yacht will undergo a planned maintenance period in either Palma or Barcelona before heading to Las Palmas to take part in ARC 2027.

This varied role as Mate/Engineer will involve everything from sailing, navigation and watch-keeping to troubleshooting systems, carrying out routine maintenance and helping keep the yacht looking her best. You'll work closely with the owner as part of a small team, so a positive attitude, good communication skills and a willingness to 'get stuck in' are just as important as technical ability. This would suit someone who enjoys owner-operated programmes and takes satisfaction in helping deliver a safe, enjoyable experience onboard. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a brand-new Oyster and become part of a well-planned cruising programme with plenty of sailing, varied destinations and the potential for further adventures ahead.
