As an External Boat Builder, you will play a key role in bringing our yachts to life, contributing directly to the quality and performance that defines Oyster. Reporting to the Boat Builder Manager at our Wroxham site, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and fitting a wide range of exterior components across our yacht range. This is a hands‑on role requiring precision, craftsmanship, and a strong understanding of marine construction techniques including carpentry / joinery and GRP fabrication. You will work closely with technical drawings and specifications, ensuring all installations meet our exacting standards while maintaining efficiency and safety throughout the build process.
Qualifications & Skills
- Robust boatbuilding construction knowledge
- Competent manufacturing knowledge (timber, fibreglass products as an example)
- Knowledge of safe working practices and a good understanding of Health and Safety
- Excellent communication skills
- Skilled with the use of hand and power tools
- Experience reading and understanding technical drawings
- Experience working with raw materials and tools to a good standard
- Previous experience in the marine industry working with timber/GRP boats (Desirable)
- High levels of attention to detail and self‑motivated
- Comfortable working at pace with high volume of work and a team player
- Relevant C&G qualifications or equivalent (Desirable)
