Our Boat Builders are central to that process. Working across both interior and exterior elements, they bring each yacht to life through precision joinery, structural fitting, and detailed finishing. The Role
As a Boat Builder, reporting to the Boat Builder Manager at our Wroxham site, you will be responsible for manufacturing and fitting a wide range of components across our yachts. This is a varied, hands-on role involving both interior fit-out joinery and exterior construction work.
You will work from technical drawings and specifications, ensuring all elements are built and installed to exact measurements and high standards. From cabinetry and bulkheads to deck fittings and composite structures, your work will play a key role in delivering exceptional yachts.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Fitting sailing hardware (Winches, cleats, clutches and tracks)
- Fitting ply bulkheads.
- Epoxy lay-up of sub-assemblies.
- Making and fitting cabin sole bearers.
- Cladding bulkheads with polished veneered ply.
- Making and fitting a variety of boat furniture.
- Making and fitting sole boards.
- Basic upholstery work on overhead panels etc.
- Making and hanging cabin doors.
- Levelling Boats
- GRP/Fibreglass structure fitting and maintenance
- Fitting hull ports / marine windows
- Fitting of pull and push pits.
- Fitting marine hatches
- Quality and snagging testing through deluge
- Deck Gear Installation and Teak Deck Installation
- Window, Portlight and Hatch Installation
- Fitting various fibreglass components.
- Fairing & finishing of final Composite Modules
About you
- Strong understanding of boatbuilding construction techniques
- Knowledge of working with timber and fibreglass materials
- Good understanding of health and safety practices
- Excellent communication skills
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience working with raw materials and tools to a high standard
- Previous marine industry experience with timber and/or GRP boats (desirable)
- Relevant City & Guilds qualification or equivalent (desirable)
- High attention to detail
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- A reliable and collaborative team player
