The Role

As an Internal Boat Builder, you will play a key role in the construction and fit-out of yacht interiors, contributing directly to the quality, functionality, and finish of each vessel. Reporting to the Boat Builder Manager at our Wroxham site, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and installing a variety of internal components across our yacht range. This is a hands-on role requiring strong carpentry/joinery skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of how interior elements integrate within the wider build. You will work from technical drawings and specifications to ensure all components are produced and fitted accurately, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Fitting ply bulkheads
  • Epoxy lay-up of sub-assemblies
  • Making and fitting cabin sole bearers
  • Cladding bulkheads with polished veneered ply
  • Making and fitting a variety of boat furniture
  • Making and fitting sole boards
  • Carrying out basic upholstery work on overhead panels
  • Making and hanging cabin doors
  • Levelling boats

About You

  • Have robust boatbuilding construction knowledge
  • Possess competent manufacturing knowledge (timber, fibreglass products, for example)
  • Have a good understanding of safe working practices and Health and Safety
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Are skilled in the use of hand and power tools
  • Have experience of reading and understanding technical drawings
  • Have experience of working with raw materials and tools to a high standard
  • Have previous experience in the marine industry working with timber/GRP boats (desirable)
  • Have high levels of attention to detail and are self-motivated
  • Are comfortable working at pace with a high volume of work and are a team player

Qualifications

Relevant C&G Qualifications or equivalent (desirable)
