Our client, a renowned global company at the forefront of innovation in the transportation industry is looking for a talented and forward-thinking Electromechanical Engineer to join their team in based in Northampton. This role offers the opportunity to tackle technical challenges, optimise equipment reliability, and make a real impact on operational performance. As an Electromechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of high-performance mobile platforms. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and document cost-effective solutions to improve product safety, reliability, and availability in line with relevant standards * Conduct thorough analysis of downloads and failures to identify root causes * Support discussions with suppliers for technical failure information and potential solutions * Interact with support functions and key suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of material and services * Participate in performance reviews and maintain up-to-date knowledge of rolling stock and EMU systems * Support change control processes and provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and stakeholders Who They’re Looking for: * HND / HNC/ BTEC/ CTEC qualification or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience in a railway environment * Demonstrable knowledge of railway maintenance techniques and procedures, railway systems, systematic fault finding, and problem identification * Ability to review, analyse, and interrogate technical reports, as well as analyse train-borne event and fault diagnostic systems * Strong written and oral communication skills, good knowledge of IT systems and software * Ability to work with minimal supervision, setting clear targets and deliverables * Beneficial qualifications: experience dealing with customers and suppliers, good technical knowledge of the relevant rolling stock platform, analytical techniques, leadership skills within a matrix organisation structure Benefits * Company bonus * 26 days holiday plus bank holidays * Excellent Pension- up to 10% * Option to buy or sell an additional leave * Flexible benefits scheme to suit individual needs * Opportunities for career growth and advancement If you are looking for a new opportunity where your work will directly contribute to the company\’s mission of transforming transportation through innovation and excellence this one is for you!
