Are you a hands-on Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, who enjoys travelling to customer sites to solve technical problems? Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-precision electro-mechanical equipment used in production environments, is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their growing team. You'll be the go-to professional for installing, servicing and repairing machinery. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with customer-facing responsibility, requiring you to diagnose electrical and mechanical faults efficiently, commission new equipment on site and provide training to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Traveling across the UK to install, service and repair machinery at customer sites.
- Responding to urgent breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults.
- Carrying out planned maintenance and servicing activities.
- Installing new equipment and commissioning machines on customer sites.
- Delivering face-to-face training to customers on safe operation and basic maintenance procedures.
- Supporting the manufacturing team with electrical wiring, control panel assembly and machine testing.
Who They’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years' experience as an Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Field Service Engineer.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with control systems and basic C++ programming, or willingness to develop this skill.
- Knowledge of wiring, control panels and machine assembly.
- Excellent problem-solving ability with a proactive, independent mindset.
- Strong communication skills with proven customer-facing experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Self-motivated approach with flexibility for travel and varying working hours.
