Are you an experienced Project Manager skilled at delivering packaging change projects in a consumer-focused environment? Our client is a well-established fast-moving Food company undertaking a significant packaging change project. They are looking for an experienced Interim Project Manager to own the end-to-end delivery of this strategic initiative. This will be a 6 month contract initially.
You will manage the complete project lifecycle from artwork creation through to print release, D2P ensuring all packaging updates are delivered on time and to specification. These updates include claims, legal copy, ingredient changes, artwork refreshes and format modifications. You will also support the integration of innovation and renovation projects into the company's stage-gate process, helping to refine and embed improved ways of working across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:- Own the end-to-end project plan, critical path and launch readiness for all packaging changes.
- Manage the design-to-print workflow in the artwork management system, coordinating artwork creation, amendments, proofs and print release.
- Coordinate mock-ups, samples and print standards, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Lead cross-functional working sessions to align stakeholders and resolve dependencies.
- Manage risks and issues, providing transparent status reporting to key stakeholders.
- Own UK inputs to packaging documentation and coordinate final sign-off against proofs.
- Ensure correct files and specifications are issued to suppliers.
- Support the transition of innovation and renovation projects into the stage-gate process.
- Manage the critical time path for new product development.
- Facilitate local innovation review meetings and help train staff on the stage-gate process.
- Continuously refine processes and role model best practice principles.
- Degree qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven project management experience delivering packaging change projects in FMCG (artwork, print, specification changes).
- Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional business projects.
- Strong project management skills including critical path planning, risk and issue management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent planning and organisational abilities.
- Keen problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in matrix structures.
- Personal integrity and strong self-starter mentality.
- Project management qualification desirable.
