One of our Hertfordshire-based local authority clients is currently looking for a Senior Private Sector Housing Officer / Environmental Health Officer on a 3-month contract with potential for extension. You will be joining their tight-knit Housing Standard team.
Position: Senior Environmental Health Officer / Environmental Health Officer / Senior Private Sector Housing Officer
Contract Duration: 3 months (with potential for extension)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days on district/ in office)
Employment Type: Full-time - 37 hours
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and assessments of private sector housing properties to ensure compliance with HHSRS.
- Provide advice and guidance to landlords, tenants, and property owners regarding housing regulations and requirements.
- Investigate and address complaints and take appropriate enforcement action.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role within a local authority.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of HHSRS and the Housing Act 2004.
- Experience with Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) is essential.
- Strong experience in housing enforcement.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload efficiently.
Start Date: Jan - Feb
Rates: £40 - £50 per hour (DOE)
