One of our Hertfordshire-based Local Authority clients is currently looking for an Interim Food Safety & Health and Safety Team Leader on a 3-month contract initially.
- Support Environmental Health Manager
- Day-to-day management of EHOs, Food Safety Officers, and Technical Officers
- Undertake high profile food inspections and handle high profile Health and Safety investigations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements
- Share expertise and knowledge and support EHOs, Food Safety Officers, and Technical Officers.
- Take ownership of the technical support and training of staff, including updating the team on new legislation and identifying training gaps and developing needs, and putting in solutions to meet those identified needs.
- Support the manager with the development of the delivery plan and other EH strategies/policies and procedures.
- Assist the manager with complaints, MP/Member inquiries, and FOI requests, and learn and develop the service as a result of such inquiries.
- Prepare technical reports and act as an expert witness in court as required.
- You will be required to follow the organisation's Health & Safety policies and attend mandatory training.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of Local authority experience in relevant jobs
- Clean UK driving license and access to your own vehicles.
- Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
- CIEH / EHORB certificate of registration.
- Up-to-date CPD 20 hours with 10 hours core in Food.
- Up-to-date Competency Framework.
Details:
- 3-month contract with potential for extension
- Full-time (37 hours per week)
- Hybrid working arrangements (3 days on district/in office per week)
- Β£400 - Β£450 per day
