We are currently recruiting an experienced Environmental Health Officer (EHO) to support a Food Safety contract based in the West Midlands. This is an initial 3–4 month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension, offering a competitive hourly rate and a hybrid working arrangement.

Responsibilities
- Conduct food hygiene inspections of a wide range of premises in line with the Food Safety Act and associated legislation
- Intervene appropriately to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Investigate complaints and food-related incidents
- Provide professional advice and guidance to food business operators
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain case records
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health
- EHRB registration (or equivalent)
- Proven experience delivering food safety inspections within a local authority setting
- Strong working knowledge of current food safety legislation and enforcement procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied inspection workload
