We are supporting a local authority in Essex who are seeking an experienced Interim Private Sector Housing Technical Manager / Head of Service–level professional to provide senior technical and operational support within their Private Sector Housing (PSH) service. You will work alongside the existing PSH Manager, providing hands-on technical leadership and strategic oversight, particularly to support a team with a mix of inexperienced officers and experienced EHO contractors. This is a key leadership role within the Housing function, focused on driving up standards in private sector housing and improving living conditions for vulnerable residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the Private Sector Housing team (2 junior staff and 3 interims)
- Support and advise on high-risk HHSRS and HMO enforcement cases.
- Lead and oversee work relating to:
- Notices under the Housing Act
- Prohibition Orders and Notices
- Prosecutions and legal proceedings
