We are working with a well-established regional civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure works across the Midlands. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support multiple projects across the HS2 framework in Warwickshire.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor with a strong reputation for quality delivery across highways, groundworks, earthworks, drainage and reinforced concrete projects.
The Role
Working closely with operational teams and site management, you will be responsible for promoting a positive health & safety culture across live construction sites and ensuring all works are carried out safely and in line with company and client standards.
Duties will include:
- Carrying out site inspections, audits and safety reviews
- Supporting site teams with RAMS, permits and safe systems of work
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and current legislation
- Investigating incidents, near misses and producing reports where required
- Delivering toolbox talks and supporting workforce engagement
- Assisting with continuous improvement across HSEQ performance
- Liaising with client representatives and HS2 stakeholders
- Supporting management with corrective actions and close out processes
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor within civil engineering or infrastructure
- Experience on major projects such as HS2, highways, rail or large-scale groundworks schemes would be advantageous
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Good knowledge of current H&S legislation and construction site practices
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
