Due to continued business growth, a leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Agent to support the delivery of a major highways infrastructure project in Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will take on a varied role, utilising their technical knowledge, leadership skills, and project delivery experience to support the successful completion of the scheme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor Site Engineers and Section Engineers
- Support the Project Manager in overseeing the construction phase of the project
- Assist with the coordination, allocation, and management of project resources
- Contribute to short-term and long-term construction planning activities
- Prepare and review work package plans and supporting management documentation
- Help ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget
- Work closely with planning teams to maintain accurate programme information
- Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and specifications
- Manage subcontractor and supplier performance and relationships
- Liaise with commercial teams to ensure accurate and timely record keeping
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures
- Organise and participate in weekly and monthly site meetings
- Produce daily briefings and maintain site records and diaries
- Support the implementation of quality assurance and environmental management plans
- Assist with project completion and close‑out documentation
- Work in line with the company's integrated management systems
- Promote a positive safety culture across the site team

Essential
- Strong work ethic and professional attitude
- Previous experience in a similar Site Agent role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong technical understanding of civil engineering works
- Good working knowledge of NEC contracts
- HNC qualification or above in Civil Engineering or related discipline
