We are working with a well-established, family-owned regional civil engineering contractor based in the East Midlands, who are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to support their continued growth. This is a business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the region, with a focus on long-term relationships, repeat business, and a down-to-earth, collaborative culture.
Responsibilities
- Managing multiple live projects across the East Midlands
- Overseeing Site Managers, Engineers, and project teams
- Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Monitoring programme performance and driving progress on site
- Commercial awareness, working closely with QS teams to manage cost and value
- Building and maintaining client relationships, particularly with local authorities and developers
- Supporting pre-construction activities including planning and methodology input
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager within civil engineering
- Strong background in highways, roads, Section 278 works, and groundworks
- Ability to manage multiple schemes concurrently
- Good commercial understanding and contractual awareness
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- SMSTS, CSCS and relevant industry qualifications
