A well-established, large regional contractor in the East Midlands is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team across a range of civil engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, growing business with a strong pipeline of secured work across infrastructure, groundworks, and major earthworks schemes.
The Role: Working closely with Senior and Managing Quantity Surveyors, you will be involved in the day-to-day commercial management of projects, including:
- Assisting with cost control and reporting
- Supporting the preparation of valuations and applications for payment
- Subcontractor procurement and management
- Measurement and pricing of works
- Assisting with variations and final accounts
- General commercial administration across live projects
About You:
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying or Assistant QS role
- Experience within civil engineering, groundworks, or infrastructure projects
- Exposure to heavy civils and earthworks is highly desirable
- Degree or working towards qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn
