Somer Valley House is focused on creating a high‑quality living environment for residents and a supportive workplace for our staff. As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in keeping the home clean and welcoming, working as part of a small domestic team to meet the cleaning schedules and standards set to provide an exceptional environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all areas of the care home are cleaned to a high standard in compliance with cleaning guidelines and schedules.
  • Respect and maintain the confidentiality of resident personal information, upholding their privacy, dignity and choice.
  • Adhere to statutory and legal requirements such as Health & Safety, COSHH, the Health & Social Care Act, and Infection Control.
  • Report any faulty equipment promptly to the Maintenance Person and General Manager.
  • Ensure housekeeping supplies are adequately stocked and inform the manager of shortages.
  • Spot clean any spills and use initiative to maintain a tidy environment.
  • Be an active and helpful team member, attend training sessions, and contribute to a friendly, supportive working environment.

Hours of work: 08:00‑17:00. You will work a permanent rolling rota of three consecutive shifts on, followed by three consecutive shifts off, which averages 31.5 hours per week. Hourly Rate: £13.00.
