For more than 20 years, they have designed and manufactured innovative fluid and gas sensing solutions, delivering bespoke technologies across a wide range of industries.

As the business continues to grow globally, they are looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to lead their commercial function and play a key role in shaping the company's future success.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you'll take ownership of the global business development strategy, leading a talented team of Business Development and Sales professionals while driving sustainable revenue growth across Europe, North America and APAC. This is a genuine leadership opportunity where you'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on commercial expertise, building lasting customer relationships, identifying new market opportunities and helping influence the future direction of an innovative international business. International travel will form part of this exciting role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and delivering the global business development strategy
  • Driving revenue and profitability across international markets
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities, partnerships and distribution channels
  • Leading major commercial negotiations and strengthening key customer relationships
  • Managing, coaching and developing a high-performing commercial team of up to 15 people
  • Creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Product teams to maximise commercial opportunities
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies
  • Managing sales forecasting, budgets, KPIs and commercial reporting
  • Representing the business at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events worldwide

About You

You’ll bring:

  • Significant experience in a senior Business Development, Commercial or Sales Leadership role within engineering or manufacturing
  • Proven success leading and developing commercial teams
  • A strong technical background, ideally within sensors, instrumentation, industrial automation or advanced manufacturing
  • A track record of delivering sustainable revenue growth through strategic business development
  • Experience working with international customers, distributors and channel partners
  • Strong commercial, financial and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation and stakeholder management abilities
  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
