Welcome to KFC. Home of the real ones. We sell the world’s best chicken. Seriously. And we’ve done it since 1939, when the idea of crispy, original recipe chicken took Kentucky by storm. Now, we’re proud to serve 1000+ communities across the UK and Ireland, bringing the grit, pride and iconic reputation that we started with, all those years ago.
Across the Restaurant Support Centre (RSC), we come to work to be ourselves, and to make something of ourselves. We want to see our potential go that little bit further, as part of one of the world’s most iconic brands.
THE TEAM
Our Commercial Finance team are the problem solvers behind the numbers - translating data into decisions and partnering across the business to drive smart, strategic growth. You’ll find us rolling up our sleeves on everything from growing top-line sales to protecting profitability, and translating financial insights into clear, confident action. If you're curious, commercially minded, and want to turn data into real impact, you’ll feel right at home here.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a bright, commercially curious and high-potential FP&A Business Partner to join our Planning team. Sitting at the heart of financial planning for KFC UK&I, a c.£2bn system sales business, you’ll own our key forecasting and planning processes end-to-end. You’ll build a whole-business view of performance, get underneath what’s driving the numbers and help shape where we expect the business to land. It’s a broad role that will give you exposure to the key drivers of our business, from transactions and pricing through to restaurant economics and new restaurant openings. You’ll work across Finance and the wider business to challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities and build a forward-looking view of where KFC is heading. You’ll also turn complex information into clear, compelling insight, presenting directly to our UK&I Leadership Team and Global CFO and helping senior leaders make better commercial decisions. Alongside the core FP&A role, you’ll lead the UK&I implementation of our new global FP&A system, giving you the opportunity to shape how we plan, forecast and report for the future.
WHAT WILL YOU SPEND YOUR TIME DOING?
- Own the plan: Lead KFC UK&I’s core financial planning processes end-to-end, including quarterly forecasts, our Annual Operating Plan and three-year growth plan. Bring together inputs from across the business, challenge the assumptions behind them and build a clear view of where we’re heading.
- Get underneath performance: Build a deep understanding of what drives our business, from transactions and pricing to restaurant economics and new restaurant openings. Connect financial and operational information to explain what’s happening, why it’s happening and what it means for our outlook.
- Spot what’s coming: Proactively identify emerging risks and opportunities and make sure they’re reflected in our forecasts, plans and decision-making.
- Be a brilliant business partner: Build strong relationships across Finance and the wider business, bringing an independent financial perspective to plans and decisions. Ask great questions, test assumptions and help teams understand the commercial implications and trade-offs behind their choices.
- Tell the financial story: Turn complex information into simple, compelling insight for senior stakeholders. You’ll present our plans and outlook directly to the UK&I Leadership Team and Global CFO, while partnering closely with KFC Global on key submissions and financial discussions.
- Shape the future of FP&A: Lead the UK&I implementation of our new global FP&A system. Help design new ways of working, drive adoption across the business and share UK&I learnings and best practice with other KFC markets.
WHAT WE LOVE FROM YOU
- You’re commercially curious and want to understand why the business is performing the way it is, rather than simply reporting the numbers.
- You’re analytically strong and can connect financial and operational information to find the story behind the data.
- You’re a confident business partner who builds credibility quickly, asks great questions and isn’t afraid to challenge assumptions.
- You can take something complex and make it simple, clear and meaningful for different audiences.
- You’re organised and comfortable owning important processes involving multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.
- You’re proactive, curious and always looking for a better way of doing things.
- You have high standards and excellent attention to detail, without losing sight of the bigger commercial picture.
- You’re comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and taking real ownership of your work.
EXPERIENCE
- Strong FP&A, commercial finance or relevant financial planning experience.
- Strong financial analysis and modelling capability, with the ability to turn data into meaningful commercial insight.
- Experience partnering with stakeholders and influencing business decisions.
- Confidence communicating and presenting financial information to senior audiences.
- Experience managing complex planning, forecasting or budgeting processes would be beneficial.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Experience of finance systems implementation or transformation would be a bonus, but isn’t essential.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with potential and curiosity. Someone who wants to understand how the whole business works, is comfortable challenging the numbers and wants an opportunity to grow their commercial finance career at the heart of KFC UK&I.
