We are partnering with a global leader in physician engagement and healthcare insights to appoint a Director of Business Development in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished business development professional to sell a distinctive, well-regarded product into the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector.

About the role

Our client connects pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations with a global, highly engaged community of physicians, supported by proprietary data and healthcare insights.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role focused on driving new business growth and developing long-term strategic client relationships.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop strategic account plans that uncover growth opportunities within existing and prospective clients.
  • Lead consultative sales conversations that identify client challenges and align tailored solutions to their objectives.
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, business cases, and RFP responses.
  • Partner with internal subject matter experts to design customised solutions.
  • Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification to negotiation, contracting, and close.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline and consistently achieve or exceed revenue targets.
  • Represent the business at relevant industry conferences and congresses.

About you

  • Demonstrable business development or sales experience within healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical communications, healthcare media, healthcare technology, market research, or healthcare consulting.
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • The ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and navigate complex pharmaceutical organisations.
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • An entrepreneurial, self-motivated approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, ideally Salesforce.
