We're partnering with a leading Medical Affairs Advisory and Medical Communications business to find a Director of Business Development who lives for the win. This is a genuine hunter's role with high autonomy, serious earning potential, and a full suite of best-in-class solutions to take to market across large pharma. If you know the medical affairs and med comms world inside out and you've built your reputation on landing complex, high-value deals, this is a seat with your name on it.

Why this one's worth a conversation:

  • A respected, well-established brand with a solution set that actually sells, you won't be apologising for the product.
  • Wide-open whitespace across large pharma, real territory, real pipeline, real commission upside.
  • A consultative, strategic sale (not a transactional churn) where your industry expertise is the differentiator.
  • Backed by strong scientific, strategy, creative and delivery teams who help you shape and close, you're never selling alone.
  • Clear path to multi-year, multi-million-dollar partnerships rather than one-and-done deals.

What you'll actually be doing:

  • Hunting and closing new business across pharma accounts using a consultative, value-led approach.
  • Growing existing accounts through new product and indication launches and expansion into fresh business units.
  • Orchestrating cross-functional pursuit teams, strategy, creative, innovation, client services to win the complex, multi-stakeholder deals others can't.
  • Owning your pipeline end to end: forecasting, scoping, pricing and negotiation through to a clean handoff to delivery.
  • Acting as the commercial domain expert in front of clients, articulating the value proposition and shaping differentiated solutions.

What you'll bring:

  • Ideally 8 + years in business development selling medical communications or medical affairs advisory services into pharma with a track record built on new business wins, not just account management.
  • A history of hitting and beating annual targets in the $1–3M+ range.
  • Strong relationships with the pharma stakeholders who buy med comms and medical affairs services.
  • The credibility to operate in a matrixed scientific and commercial environment and pull the right people into the room.

The package:

Up to £110,000 base depending on experience, plus commission and the kind of pipeline that rewards a genuine closer.
