We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Food Technology to deliver high-quality lessons that support students in achieving outstanding progress. The successful candidate will set clear learning targets, assess student progress with regular feedback, and ensure students are well-prepared for examinations. With a genuine passion for Food Technology, you’ll help our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally, while staying up-to-date with current educational thinking. They will contribute to schemes of work, maintain a stimulating learning environment, and engage with parents and the wider school community. The role also involves taking responsibility for professional development and actively participating in school duties and performance management activities. This is a part-time, fixed term position (3 days per week) to cover Maternity Leave.

Subject Specific Information:

Oxted School is committed to a broad and balanced curriculum and recognises the importance of the creative subjects. The faculty team currently consists of three dynamic specialist teachers and two technician support members of staff. The faculty is dedicated to delivering a full, rich curriculum to all students using active learning, AFL and ICT. The facilities at Oxted School are impressive, including three dedicated workshops, an ICT classroom, and two equipped food classrooms. The faculty has access to a laser cutter, 3-D printers, and Solidworks software. At Key Stage 4, we offer Food Preparation and Nutrition, Catering and Hospitality, Engineering, Design and Technology. We continue to consider all options available for 2026 and beyond. One of the team’s strongest assets is our ability to adapt and welcome new ideas.
