Oxleas Tree Care is looking for an experienced **Arborist Team Leader** to run a crew on commercial and public-sector work across London, Greenwich, Lewisham, Bromley, Dartford and Kent.
We’re a well-established contractor (15+ years)> We arb approved, Constructionline Gold and Acclaim accredited.
We have a strong emphasis on health and safety.
The team leader role
**What you’ll do**
- Lead a small team of climbers and ground staff
- Brief the crew, run risk assessments and keep the job safe and tidy
- Carry out aerial work to BS3998 — pruning, rigging, dismantling and felling
- Check climbing kit to LOLER and look after vehicles, chippers and saws
- Be the on-site face of Oxleas with clients
- Coach junior staff and set the standard on quality and H&S
- Support emergency / storm call-outs when required
**What you’ll need**
City & Guilds NPTC Certificates of Competence (or LANTRA equivalent):
- 0039-20 – Chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting (formerly CS30)
- 0039-21 – Felling small trees up to 380mm (formerly CS31)
- 0039-22 – Climbing trees and aerial rescue (formerly CS38)
- 0039-23 – Using a chainsaw from a rope and harness (formerly CS39)
Strongly preferred:
- 0039-31 – Aerial tree pruning (formerly CS40)
- 0039-32 – Aerial tree rigging (formerly CS41)
Useful extras: 0039-33 / 0039-34 (medium / large felling), 0039-38 (chainsaw from MEWP), woodchipper
Full UK driving licence (B+E a real advantage)
Emergency First Aid at Work (Forestry +F preferred)
Solid grasp of H&S, LOLER and PUWER
