About Us

Now is a great time to join Oxfordshire County Council’s Highways & Operations team. We are committed to delivering a high-quality, safe, and sustainable road network for our communities.

  • Active and sustainable travel projects
  • Traffic and safety improvements
  • Speed management schemes
  • Renew and maintain traffic signs and road markings
  • Investigate and respond to public enquiries about traffic and road safety

About the Role and you

Supporting the Team Leader in the delivery of a high-quality traffic & road safety and maintenance service across the County.

You will be adept at positively representing the County Council, whether that be in person, or through written correspondence. As well as dealing with members of the public the role has contact with all levels of the political structure, from County Councillors to Parish Councils where you will need to be diplomatic and politically aware and be sympathetic to their requests.

You will be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision whilst working as part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the highway network.

You will need to be willing to learn new skills and be a team player that contributes to building a positive and engaged working environment.

The role is based at County Hall, Oxford, with flexible and agile working options. Site visits for inspections and project supervision are required.
