Make a real difference to Oxford Students. Oxford SU is looking for an impartial, non-judgemental, professional Advice Caseworker to support students through complex academic and personal challenges. You’ll provide clear, person-centred advice on issues such as academic appeals, complaints, misconduct and wellbeing concerns, helping students to understand their options and feel confident navigating collegiate University processes.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage a caseload of student enquiries from first contact to resolution
  • Provide tailored advice on collegiate University procedures
  • Support students with statements, meetings and hearings
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records
  • Spot trends and contribute to policy insights

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience providing advice or casework support in complex or sensitive situations
  • Strong organisational skills and experience managing a caseload
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
  • A high level of empathy, professionalism and attention to detail
  • The ability to interpret and apply regulations and policies

You’ll be part of a small, high-performing and supportive team working at the heart of student life at Oxford. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct, meaningful impact on students’ academic experiences and wellbeing.

Contract type: Permanent (subject to 6-month probationary period)

Working hours and location: 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE) worked during core office hours of Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. To be worked across a minimum of 4 days. We expect staff to be on-site up to 100% of the week during full term time and a minimum 60% of the week during vacation periods – dependent on service needs.

Salary: £19,779 actual salary for 0.6FTE (based on a full-time equivalent salary of £32,966)
