As our new Product Data Controller, you will join a collaborative team where accuracy and consistency in product data are essential to publishing success. In this role, you will support the timely creation and maintenance of high‑quality product data, ensuring it is correctly managed within Biblio and flows effectively across OUP systems. Working with Education UK and International publishing teams, you’ll contribute to the full product lifecycle, from initial concept through to delivery, carrying out thorough checks, maintaining data standards, and helping to minimise errors and system issues.

You’ll play an active role in maintaining service levels and supporting efficient workflows. This includes tracking requests, ensuring processes are followed, and contributing to accurate and reliable reporting. With a proactive approach, you’ll identify and resolve data issues, keeping stakeholders informed and ensuring a smooth and transparent process. Your attention to detail and organisational skills will help ensure targets are met and that product data is consistently maintained to a high standard.

Working closely with colleagues across Publishing, Central Product Data, and Publishing Solutions, you’ll contribute to ongoing improvements in systems, processes, and documentation. You’ll support the development of clear guidance, help streamline monitoring and reporting processes, and assist in embedding system updates through effective communication and training. This role offers the opportunity to build expertise, contribute to best practice, and play a key part in strengthening data quality and operational efficiency across the organisation.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

About You

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft software packages.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
  • High‑level interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and flexible approach to new requests and ideas.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with an ability to pick up new systems and processes.
  • Able to multitask effectively and adapt well to the fast pace of change in the organisation.
  • Experience in a busy administrative role.
  • Proven data skills, especially with Microsoft Excel (V‑Lookups / Pivot tables).
  • Capability to navigate data, analyse trends for insights as well as continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Experience in a matrix environment and proven track record of supporting, advising and mentoring others.
  • Experience with providing data from multiple sources.
  • Experience of business process improvements.
  • Experience of working in a Publishing organisation.
  • Experience with Biblio publishing system.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experience with Power BI.
