We’re seeking a Senior Supplier Operations Manager to oversee the resourcing and performance of freelance journals production suppliers, ensuring the timely delivery of high‑quality content. You’ll manage the allocation of copyeditors and proofreaders, maintain an in‑depth understanding of supplier capabilities, and ensure accurate contracts, documentation, and cost processes.
In this senior role, you’ll drive supplier performance through data‑led analysis, quality monitoring, and clear improvement plans. You’ll act as a subject matter expert on key editorial styles, maintain style templates, and lead projects that enhance efficiency, standardisation, and best practice across the department. You’ll also support supplier onboarding, guide suppliers through new tools and processes, and provide responsive advice as requirements evolve.
You’ll play a key role in developing and supporting colleagues, delivering training, coaching staff in supplier management, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration is central, working closely with internal stakeholders across Journals Production, Content Delivery, Supplier Strategy, Editorial, and Design, as well as external freelance suppliers and partners.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
