We are seeking an experienced FP&A professional to join our Group Finance Function, supporting the Journals FP&A Team in preparation and analysis of annual Society Accounts, Society Budgets, month end and Society payments.
Key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Perform FP&A activities including (but not limited to) reporting, budgeting, forecasting.
- Run Society Accounts through the excel accounting programme, ensuring the accounts reconcile and investigating any variances.
- Liaise directly with the Publisher to review the accounts and answering any queries the Publisher may have to enable accounts to be signed off.
- Analyse financial information to ensure that information is accurate, that provisions are financially sound and correctly allocated, investigate anomalies and provide explanations on variances that have occurred against budget.
- Raise contractual invoices that are needed for inclusion within the Annual Accounts.
- Raise payments as per Annual Accounts to external Societies and Editors in line with contractual deadlines.
- Support the FP&A team as needed to build 5YP
- Build, analyse and review Society Budgets
- Month End processes to be completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Review Trading account and investigate variances
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Finance qualification or studying for a professional qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Experience of problem solving and analysis techniques to define problems
- Commitment to continual personal professional development
- Good knowledge of finance tools (including excel) and technology awareness
- Initiative and ability to successfully implement new ideas, with drive to push through.
- Ability to clearly communicate compelling messages – verbal and written
