About the Role
As our new Product Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering ELT frontlist projects from initial concept through to final publication.
Working in partnership with Product Owners and cross-functional teams, this role is accountable for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget, while aligning with strategic objectives and departmental priorities.
You will lead project planning activities, develop and maintain end-to-end delivery plans, and ensure all project milestones, dependencies, resources, budgets and timelines are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
This role oversees project execution, driving progress and facilitating collaboration across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities include managing risks, issues, assumptions and change requests, maintaining project governance and reporting, and ensuring appropriate quality assurance processes are followed.
You will provide clear visibility of project status through regular reporting, budget tracking and resource assessments, while ensuring teams remain focused on achieving delivery goals and successfully producing high-quality content for manufacturing or digital publication.
As a key leader within the project environment, the Product Project Manager fosters effective communication, establishes productive ways of working, and supports cross-functional teams in achieving shared objectives.
You will champion project management best practice, drive continuous improvement through the application of lessons learned, and promote the adoption of new processes and ways of working.
Success is measured through the consistent delivery of quality outcomes, proactive management of project risks and challenges, effective stakeholder engagement, and the ongoing enhancement of project performance and team effectiveness.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
About You
- Experience managing large and complex projects, to schedule and budget.
- Proven track record of collaborating with multiple stakeholders in a matrix, with cross-functional teams and managing external vendors or contractors.

Remains calm under pressure and can pivot strategies as needed to meet project goals.

- Communication: Confident and skilled influencer and communicator, has a high degree of integrity and credibility and is a trusted advisor that can make sound judgments autonomously.
- Prioritization: Strong prioritization skills, which allows them to work across multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management software (e. g., Click Up, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet) or Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of the publishing process for print and digital products.
- PRINCE2, Agile, APM or other recognized project management certification.
- Experience of participating and leading in change initiatives or implementation and continuous improvement of workflows.
