Job Description:

About the Role

We’re looking for an outstanding Global Recognition Lead to spearhead a major international recognition drive for the Oxford Test of English (OTE) suite – a high-stakes, computer-adaptive English proficiency suite of tests developed by Oxford University Press and already recognised in over 40 countries.

This is a rare opportunity to own and deliver a global recognition strategy for one of the most innovative and exciting English language assessments on the market. You’ll lead a talented team to accelerate our reach and credibility, and ensure that OTE is recognised by ministries, regulators, universities, employers, and policy influencers across key markets. Recognition is central to our commercial growth and to our mission to become a global leader in English language testing.

You’ll be joining at a transformative moment: we’ve set ambitious growth targets, we’re expanding our international Test Centre network, and we’re investing in new product innovation and market positioning. As Global Recognition Lead, you’ll play a central role in making this vision real.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

About You

  • Experience of developing and implementing strategy
  • Professional experience in International Education
  • Experience of managing a team across different locations
  • Excellent knowledge of ELT or Assessment
  • Experience working with or within ministries, academic leadership, or regulatory bodies
  • Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and shifting policy or practice
  • Proven ability to develop team capability and performance in influencing and advocacy
  • Proven collaboration & communication skills with an ability to work across multiple stakeholders, including governmental agencies
  • Ability to work across functions, including with senior leaders, to impact and influence others
  • Flexibility to engage with stakeholders and colleagues in times zones around the globe, including travel as necessary
  • Experience of working with third party organisations
  • Experience of Recognition or Equivalence work in an educational / assessment context
  • Experience of working in a customer-focussed marketing or sales role

We care about work/life balance here at OUP. With this in mind we offer 25 days’ holiday that rises with service, plus bank holidays and Christmas closure (3-days) and a 35-hour working week. We are open to discussing flexibility in respect to working patterns, dependent on role. We also have a great variety of active employee networks and societies.

We help make your money go further by contributing to your pension up to 12%, offering loans and savings schemes through our partnership with Salary Finance, in addition to travel to work schemes and access to a wide range of local discounts.

This role comes with the added benefit of private medical insurance and a management bonus.
