We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Respiratory Department. This role is essential in delivering high-quality care to patients with complex respiratory needs, including those requiring non-invasive ventilation (NIV), oxygen therapy, and close monitoring. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting the ongoing management and recovery of patients in a fast-paced environment.
As a key member of the team, you will provide direct patient care, contribute to care planning, and ensure effective communication with other healthcare professionals. The role offers opportunities for professional development and involvement in the expansion of services, including patient assessments across different areas of the hospital.
This is a full-time, permanent position, and the postholder will play a crucial role in maintaining safe staffing levels, improving patient outcomes, and supporting the department in meeting national operational priorities.
Main duties of the job
Patient Care: Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with complex respiratory conditions, including the management of non-invasive ventilation (NIV), oxygen therapy, and other respiratory interventions.
Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including respiratory function and vital signs monitoring, and respond promptly to any changes in patient condition.
Care Planning and Documentation: Develop, implement, and review patient care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions, treatments, and assessments.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies, promoting health and wellbeing.
Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate with doctors, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
Staff Support and Training: Support junior staff, provide mentorship, and participate in training and development opportunities to enhance team knowledge and skills.
Health and Safety: Ensure that all patient care is delivered in accordance with health and safety guidelines, infection control protocols, and hospital policies.
Quality Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement activities, audits, and feedback processes to enhance the quality of patient care and department performance.
