The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre sees a range of patients requiring orthopaedic surgery. To manage, communicate with, and lead a team of nursing staff, consisting of Registered nurses, nursing assistants, AHPs within the pre-op department. To manage service needs within the department relating to Government and Trust initiatives, ensuring targets are defined, met and continued. To proactively manage the pre-op Department, ensuring staff, service needs, trust and unit targets are met. To manage a defined budget.
Main duties of the job include:
- To be responsible for pre-op staff, adhering to related Trust policies.
- Ensure the patient’s journey is as smooth as possible, looking and responding to the complex needs of individual patients and multiple services within the department.
- Resolving any patient complaints, maintaining confidentiality at all times, ensuring sensitive information is managed and cascaded appropriately.
- Working closely with, communicating and liaising with: Clinical Lead for the service, the consultants, doctors, AHP's, GP’s, other managers/departments, community/primary care staff, Directorate service managers, and each of all specialty teams.
