Clinical Scientist (Cardiac Science) • Oxford
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a large tertiary cardiac centre in Oxfordshire at the John Radcliffe Hospital, the Horton General Hospital in Banbury, and the community. Our Cardiac Physiology department has highly specialised staff that carry out a multitude of cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures in our dedicated heart centre. Our goals are to deliver high quality, evidence‑based holistic care to Cardiac Patients. We promote a collaborative approach to care and support professional and personal development, including leadership/mentorship roles.
Responsibilities
- Undertake without immediate supervision a full range of diagnostic cardiac clinical physiology procedures, e.g., ambulatory monitoring, ECG, echocardiography, exercise tolerance testing, cardiac angiography procedures, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac rhythm management procedures
- Perform transthoracic echo
- Assist in the delivery of treatment for heart disease including rapid access chest pain clinic, percutaneous coronary intervention and implantable devices; participate in the emergency on‑call rota
- Provide training and mentor support to undergraduate and other junior staff programmes
- Single‑handed or as part of a team, undertake clinical procedures on neonates, children and adults
