Job Overview
Undertake a range of diagnostic cardiac investigations at highly specialist cardiac physiologist level and provide expert, clinically accurate reports, adhering to local and national guidelines. Communicate results across a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert, clinically accurate reports for diagnostic cardiac investigations.
- Train and support MDT members in routine and complex cardiac investigations.
- Collaborate with consultant cardiologists, clinical cardiac physiology leads, advanced nurse practitioners and other colleagues to deliver clinical leadership and contribute to service development.
- Manage resources efficiently within cardiac physiology.
- Support strategic development and daily operational management of the Department.
- Initiate and conduct audit and collaborate with research departments.
- Act as a clinical role model and resource to staff, promoting evidence-based care and clinical excellence.
- Ensure service standards meet national clinical standards and align with the Trust’s strategic aims.
Qualifications
- Clinically excellent BSE accredited Echocardiographer or equivalent.
- Band 7 Cardiac Physiologist experience with post graduate level working demonstrated.
- Evidence of leadership, mentorship and specialist work in Cardiac Physiology.
- Professional registration preferred, RCCP or AHCS.
