GRADE: Trust Doctor ST7 and above
SPECIALTY:

WORK PATTERN: To be agreed with supervising consultant
AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: 40 hours. No on call commitment
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Medical degree and MRCP Neurology or equivalent. CCT (Neurology) or equivalent preferable.
GMC REQUIREMENT: Full registration
CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed-term for 1 year in the first instance
ANNUAL AND STUDY LEAVE ARRANGEMENTS: Annual leave and study leave must be planned in advance and must be agreed with supervising consultants.

DUTIES OF THE POST
This post will span the clinical and research gamut of Movement Disorders to develop clinical, research and teaching skills for the successful applicant. The position will provide sub-specialist experience in Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders neurology to consultant level, in addition to movement disorders research, and delivery of clinical neurosciences undergraduate teaching.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Weekly Timetable: to be confirmed with supervising consultants
To include 2 clinics per week comprising 1 weekly PD/atypical PD clinic on a Thursday pm. The second clinic will comprise 2 DBS PD-Movement disorders clinics per month, 1 botulinum toxin clinic per month and 1 neurogenetics/ataxia clinic per month to offer a broad range of clinical experience.

Qualifications/Training
- Full GMC registration with licence to practice
- Medical Degree
- MRCP or equivalent.
- Higher Medical Degree eg PhD
Experience
- General training in Neurology to specialist level or equivalent
- Experience of ST7 and above
- Interest in research with publications, and neurology teaching
- GCP trained (Good Clinical Practice)
Skills and Knowledge
- Organizational and leadership skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently with appropriate supervision
- Experience of teaching undergraduates and trainees
- Management training and experience
