To work as a member of the NHSP team at Oxford University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a health professional performing newborn hearing screens, you will record and collect data manually and electronically, liaising with parents, health professionals, and stakeholders, including the NHSP Local Manager and/or Assistant Local Manager. This role involves direct contact with newborn babies and their parents. Some administrative tasks will be undertaken at the John Radcliffe Hospital. You will be required to travel around Oxfordshire to various OUH sites; access to a car with appropriate insurance is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the NHSP team providing a 365-day service, including weekends and bank holidays, to ensure maximum coverage of births, and assist the Local Manager or Assistant Local Manager as needed.
- Identify babies needing screening daily, following guidelines and protocols.
- Promote a professional, welcoming, and caring environment, endorsing a Family Friendly approach to care.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working in healthcare
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team
- 5 GCSEs at Grade A-C or equivalent
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Willingness to complete mandatory Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners
Desirable Criteria
- Completed Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners
- Ability to work independently within guidelines and protocols
- Clear communication skills with colleagues and patients
- Ability to travel to all OUH sites as required
- Own car with UK license and business insurance
