The Clinical Trials Aseptic Services Unit (CTASU) is responsible for aseptically preparing clinical trial doses for patients in several departments across the Trust and for maintaining up‑to‑date documentation in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Overview
The main role of this post is to undertake a range of technical and administrative activities in CTASU under the direction of the Accountable Pharmacist and Aseptic Services Manager or Deputy. The post holder will support the day‑to‑day activities associated with all aspects of aseptic services to meet standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Responsibilities
- Support the Aseptic Services Team in the day‑to‑day management of workload in CTASU.
- Work at an isolator fully gloved and gowned.
- Maintain personal expertise, skills and necessary knowledge of the technical aspects of aseptic dispensing.
- Accurately complete product worksheets and labels and highlight any problems with prescriptions or unusual prescriptions to the Aseptic Services Manager or Deputy.
- Assemble and document raw materials and disposables ready for aseptic preparation.
- Monitor drug stock and consumable levels and replenish where necessary.
- Maintain departmental records including staff training, environmental monitoring, cleaning, maintenance logs and worksheets.
