About The Role

Engineer – Electrical Test HW to join the Requirements & Validation department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.

What You Will Do

  • Define and execute system test and validation activities, both on products and on rigs.
  • Develop DV & PV Test plans to validate components and systems.
  • Support testing carried out by external test houses.
  • Assist the systems team with the preparation of requirements documentation at vehicle, system, and component level.
  • Assist with the build and fault-finding of projects.
  • Assist with hazard analysis, risk management and DFMEA for components and systems as required.
  • Preparation and presentation of reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Support technical and project reviews with the customer, representing Fortescue Zero, as required.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and all other departments.
  • Understand and work to Fortescue, Customer, Industry and Legislative standards.

Essential Qualifications

  • Recent experience and proven track record in electrical integration within the automotive or autosport industries.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in relevant engineering discipline or significant in job experience.
  • A good understanding of different testing and validation methods.
  • Knowledge of Electrical and Environmental test standards, for example LV124 & ISO16750.
  • Good knowledge of Vector tools including CANalyzer.
  • The ability to work flexibly to strict deadlines.
  • The ability to travel in the UK and overseas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of Electric Vehicles – HV charging, HV battery and HV powertrain systems.
  • Experience of running Hardware in the Loop test rigs, Either National Instruments or Vector based.
  • Experience of Requirements Capture Tools, such as Siemens Polarion or IBM Rational Doors.
  • Has an understanding of functional Safety and ISO26262.
