Oxford Talks is a media company operating at the intersection of ideas, leadership, and culture. We produce high‑profile 10-12min videos, executive leadership programmes, and a rapidly growing global community of Oxford Talks Circle events. We are founder‑led and fast‑moving. The Opportunity

We are looking for a Head of Productions to take full ownership of our media and content output. This is a hands‑on, end‑to‑end role. You will manage the logistics, be on location with us, operate the camera, oversee editing, and ensure every piece of content that leaves Oxford Talks is exceptional. This is not a management‑only role. You will be in the field. You will carry kit. You will shoot. And you will make sure every production, from a single podcast episode to a full event filming, is executed to the highest standard. If you have built production workflows from the ground up, are deeply comfortable behind a Sony camera, and thrive in an environment where quality and speed both matter, this role was written for you.

What You Will Own

  • End‑to‑end management of the Oxford Talks Podcast, from guest outreach and scheduling to recording, editing, and publication.
  • Ensuring audio and visual quality is broadcast‑standard on every episode.
  • Operating Sony camera systems on location (primary kit: Sony FX3 / FX6 / A7S III or equivalent).
  • Location scouting and securing appropriate filming environments.
  • Managing all equipment, packing, transportation, setup, breakdown, and maintenance.
  • Travelling to filming locations across London, Oxford and the US if needed.
  • Overseeing the editing workflow for all video and podcast content.
  • Hands‑on editing where required, and managing freelance editors when volume demands.
  • Colour grading, audio post‑production, and final delivery across all platforms.
  • Maintaining a consistent visual and audio identity across all Oxford Talks content.

Production Operations

  • Building and owning the production calendar across all concurrent projects.
  • Managing relationships with freelance crew, editors, sound engineers, DPs, and runners.
  • Developing and maintaining production SOPs so quality is consistent regardless of scale.
  • Working closely with the CEO and wider team to align content output with brand direction.

What We Are Looking For

  • Full, valid UK driving licence. You will be required to travel to filming locations independently.
  • Proven, hands‑on experience with Sony camera systems, you know the menus, the lenses, the limitations, and how to get the most out of them in unpredictable conditions.
  • Demonstrable end‑to‑end podcast or video production experience, you have owned the whole process, not just one part of it.
  • Strong post‑production skills: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent.
  • Experience managing guest or talent logistics in a production context.
  • A portfolio or showreel that demonstrates your range and standard of work.
  • Comfortable working on location, physically capable of managing kit, setting up independently, and problem‑solving on the day.
  • Highly organised with strong project management instincts and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience in live event, documentary, or branded content production.
  • Familiarity with audio post‑production tools (Adobe Audition, Logic Pro or equivalent).
  • An existing network of trusted freelance production talent in London.
  • Experience producing content for intellectual, cultural, or business audiences.

What This Role Is Not

This is not a remote production management role. You will be present at shoots. You will be on location. If your preference is to coordinate from a distance and delegate execution to others, this is not the right fit.

The Package

  • £45,000 – £55,000 per annum, based on experience.
