About the role

Use your expertise to craft and deliver an inspiring Law syllabus that challenges and empowers students on their academic and personal journey. We're looking for enthusiastic Law tutors to deliver engaging, curiosity‑driven courses to small groups of 12–14‑year‑olds. You'll design and teach your own Law curriculum across a 1‑week intensive course — whether that's unpicking the principles of criminal liability, exploring how constitutional law shapes the relationship between citizens and the state, or tracing the ways contract law underpins every transaction in modern life.

You'll foster a positive environment where students feel free to question, debate and discover that Law stretches far beyond anything they’ve encountered in the classroom.

Dates

  • Course dates between early July and mid August 2026
  • From £32 to £55 per hour depending on subject expertise and teaching experience

Working pattern

  • 12 hours of lessons across 1 week
  • Teaching takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
  • 3 hours preparation allowance
  • Reports to Academic Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver your own 1-week course: Prepare and deliver 12 interactive and engaging 1-hour lessons tailored to a class of up to twenty students aged 12-14.
  • Create a supportive and stimulating classroom atmosphere: Foster a welcoming environment where students feel confident to participate, engage with challenging ideas, and learn from their peers.
  • Encourage intellectual curiosity and exploration: Introduce students to thought‑provoking aspects of your subject, guiding them to ask questions, think critically, and discover new interests.
  • Expert classroom management: Balance academic rigour with age‑appropriate engagement, maintaining a structured yet enjoyable learning environment for early adolescents.
  • Write personalised reports: Compose Letters of Recommendation for your students, highlighting their engagement, developing skills, and academic potential.
  • Complete mandatory training: Familiarise yourself with company procedures, logistical requirements and safeguarding through our online induction.
  • Stay attentive to student welfare: Monitor attendance and remain alert to student welfare and safeguarding, reporting any concerns to help keep students safe.

About you

  • You're passionate about your subject and bring creativity and flexibility to lesson planning, adapting to diverse learning styles and classroom dynamics.
  • You're committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and can succeed, and you maintain a strong awareness of safeguarding to ensure a safe and supportive learning space for all young people.
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.
  • Experience teaching or working with young people in an academic setting.
  • Interactive, engaging, and inclusive teaching practice.
  • Friendly and professional communications with students and staff.
  • Right to work in the UK (we cannot sponsor work visas for this role).
  • Experience working with international students and non-native speakers.
  • Experience working in academic summer schools.
  • Experience designing your own syllabi and lesson plans.
  • Working toward or already possess a PGCE or other teaching qualification.
