Oxford Spires Academy is seeking to recruit a passionate and caring Teaching Assistant with excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills to join a committed team of educational professionals. In this role you will be working closely with the teachers and SEN school staff to improve outcomes, enabling access to the curriculum and facilitating full inclusion for a young person or groups of young people with special needs.

Previous experience of working within the SEN department is desirable but training will be given. A proven ability to work positively in a team setting, including listening and taking into account the views of others, and actively sharing information is essential.

In this exciting and varied role, it is essential that you have empathy with the young people and be sympathetic to their needs whilst understanding the importance of high expectations so that they can achieve their best in all aspects of school life.

The hours will be 08:30 - 15:30 Monday to Friday (with 30 minutes lunch), totalling 32.5 hours per week. The role is term time only plus 5 inset days per year.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification and will be subject to the relevant pre-employment checks which will, where applicable, include a health check, an enhanced DBS check, the Children's Barred List check and satisfactory references.
