Oxford Royale’s Sustainability and the Environment program is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable educator to inspire and engage students, bringing the course to life through dynamic teaching. The ideal candidate will have deep academic expertise in environmental science, focusing on key topics such as climate science, global politics, and leadership. This role requires the ability to guide students in analysing real-world case studies and current events, drawing from practical experience to make complex issues accessible and compelling.
Key Responsibilities
- To prepare and adapt lessons using the Teacher’s Guide, ensuring the content is tailored to students\’ academic levels and interests.
- To deliver interactive content connecting theoretical concepts to impactful case studies that highlight the relevant challenges and advancements.
- To use subject expertise to promote student progress, providing personalised feedback and adapting lessons to suit individual learning needs.
- Mark assignments, provide detailed feedback, and complete student reports reflecting individual progress.
- Handle administrative tasks, including maintaining registers and attending staff meetings.
- Collaborate with fellow teaching staff to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
Position details
- All teaching is delivered in-person at one of Oxford Royale\’s campus locations.
- Programmes are two weeks in length, with 2, 4 and 6 week contracts available between July and mid-August 2025.
- Teaching takes place from Monday to Friday with lessons from 09:00 until 16:00 each day – options for shorter hours may be available in some locations.
- There will be compulsory online training to complete before starting the role, as well as in-person induction before the summer programme begins.
- Whilst key teaching materials are provided, Teachers are expected to use these materials as a guide, adapting lesson plans to their students’ interests and contributing their own expertise and knowledge from the field.

- An in-depth and wide-ranging knowledge of their subject.
- Up-to-date knowledge of trends and innovations in their field with a wide range of case study and examples to draw from.
- Experience studying and working in the field.
- The passion to inspire the future generation of students in their field and a determination to excite students through their learning.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
- Creative and confident teaching approach, encouraging critical thinking and hands-on problem-solving.
- Fluency in English and strong organisational skills.
Essential Qualifications:
- Completion of an undergraduate degree (or higher) relating to their chosen subject.
Desirable Qualifications / Experience:
- Experience of delivering in-person teaching in the subject to students of the relevant age group.
- A PGCE for teaching in the subject to be taught or one closely related.
- Master’s degree in the subject to be taught or one closely related.
- Work experience in the field of the subject to be taught.
