Job Overview

The Assistant Programme Director (APD) supports the Programme Director in ensuring the smooth running of Oxford Royale's summer school programmes. The APD assists in managing staff, maintaining the high standard of academic and extracurricular activities, and ensuring student welfare. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Programme Leadership: Assist the Programme Director in the overall management of the summer programme, ensuring that all aspects run smoothly, including academic, social, and operational areas.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and support the summer school staff, including teachers, Activity Leaders, and pastoral teams, ensuring that they are meeting performance standards and working collaboratively.
  • Student Welfare: Oversee student well-being, providing support in pastoral matters and managing disciplinary issues in collaboration with the Programme Director.
  • Timetabling & Scheduling: Assist with the preparation and daily management of the programme timetable, ensuring that all academic and extracurricular sessions run to schedule.
  • Communication: Act as a point of contact for students, staff, and parents, handling queries and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Event Management: Help organise and coordinate events and excursions, ensuring their successful execution and alignment with programme objectives.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the programme’s operation.
  • Compliance & Health and Safety: Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and that safeguarding procedures are followed.

Requirements
